Sunday Gatherings

Whether you've never been to church before or are looking for a new church family, we hope that you'll experience something of God's love at a Sunday gathering.

Our building is at the corner of Hill & Barton Streets, Hawthorn. (Picture below)

What's a gathering like?

Each Sunday of the month has a different focus, but stuff we do together usually involves singing songs to Jesus, learning about Him, taking time to share stuff that's going on in our lives, and eating!

Around 60-80 people gather each week, around half of us are under 35 but there are people from all walks and stages of life, so don't feel you'll be too old or too young.

The music varies from pretty loud to reflective, with a variety of instruments and styles. The teaching times and gatherings as a whole are led by a range of different people.

You can be involved as much or as little as you like: you can be fully into it, you can wander out the back and grab a coffee, chat with someone about life and faith, keep the kids entertained...we don't really mind!

What happens each Sunday?

We meet up about 10.30am, and aim to finish by 12pm, with time afterwards to stay and chat if you like. One Sunday of the month we all bring lunch and eat it together.
Please note we are a bit relaxed on starting times so don't freak out if you get there on time and there's only a few people!

1st Sun — "G-Rated": family-friendly, creative, lots of great music, fun and drama.

2nd Sun — Learning: Sing great songs and get to know Jesus in different ways with a speaker to help us do that.

3rd Sun — Prayer & Lunch: We spend time giving glory to Jesus with songs and praying in groups for our world, our community & each other, then eat lunch together.

4th Sun — Going Deeper: The songs get a bit louder, and the speakers go deeper (sometimes live, sometimes video), with plenty of discussion time.

5th Sun — Completely different: It varies according to need and weather, maybe a working bee and BBQ, or a picnic!

A Few Practical Things about Sundays

Sunday gatherings start at 10.30 (although people are often late, don't panic if there's noone there but you and the band!). We aim to finish by 12pm most weeks.

Parking is a bit hard to find so we suggest using feet/bikes/public transport. There are the 75, 109, and 48 trams, and Hawthorn train station a short walk away, we are about 6km from the CBD. If you need to drive, try looking near St James Park (big park on corner of Burwood Road and Barton & Denham Sts)

Kids are always welcome, some weeks we have some organised separate activities (this is being developed), others they stay in with everybody.

There's no offering or collection, and nothing for sale (we take note of Jesus' opinion of such things) so if you are visiting you can leave your money in your pocket.

Singing is a big part of what we do together, and the musical styles vary from pretty loud to just fun and occasionally powerful...if you're not into singing that's fine, just come along and listen and enjoy.
