One day you might be the only person who can save someone's life. Learn some basic first aid!

At Christchurch Memorial Hall (HWPS hall), Denham St). $5 singles, $10 families, live band, awesome fun!

Fri 15 Aug 40 HOUR MIDWINTER SLEEPOUT
Raise money for homeless while you sleep in a giant house made of cardboard boxes! Also the 40 Hour Famine is on this weekend. Be a hero to kids in India and kids on the streets of Melbourne in one night!

Thu 21 Aug A LISTENING EAR 6.30-8.30

Uh? Uncouth Group? Wha..?

Who are the Uncouth?

Anyone who comes to an Uncouth event! The Uncouth is a group of teenagers and adults who have insane amounts of fun and do crazy and creative stuff together...life is an adventure and we're supposed to be living it! Most of us live around Hawthorn, Richmond, Kew, but some come from much further away!

Who's responsible for this lot? Find out about the Uncouth leaders.

What happens at Uncouth?

On alternating Fridays (Uncouth/Big nights) all the Uncouthers get together and do fun stuff. Sometimes we go out to do things (eg swimming, camping, rock climbing, ice skating, commando raids...?) and sometimes we stay local and play games, hang out, and do crazy stuff. (like mess nights, glow-in-the-dark nights, basketball matches, movie nights, battle of the sexes...!)

On alternating Thursdays (FIHU nights) the fun gets a little more serious, we have fun and hang out together but also look at things like War, Poverty, Making a Difference, Pain, Wisdom, Love, Relationships, the Bible & Prayer. Further In Higher Up nights are creative and challenging and are not just sitting around listening to someone talk...or doing 'boring churchy stuff' :-D We reckon Jesus has a lot to teach us about how we live and who we are...he didn't just tell us to 'sit and listen' but also to 'go and do'...

We also run occasional weekend events like camping trips and the 40 Hour Famine which are always awesome!

Who can come?

Year 6 to Year 12 students will love Uncouth stuff but anyone is welcome! (If you are in grade 5 or younger you are welcome to come to Friday Uncouth nights but please bring a parent with you!)

The people running Uncouth Group are Christians and so are many of the people who come, but not everyone is. You are welcome to come and just have fun with a great bunch of people, or get into the deeper stuff no matter what you believe, in fact it's great having a good mix. Even amongst the Christians there are people from several different churches!

We care about the community of young people in our local area and schools and want to make it a great community! We're looking for people who can be a part of that!

'k, so why call it "Uncouth"? You'll just have to come and find out :) It's fairly a accurate description...

Further In Higher Up (FIHU) is every second Thursday at HWBC, 6.30-8.30pm sharp. Serious fun.

Uncouth/Big Nights are every second Friday and alternate with FIHU; 7pm-10pm and sometimes later. We often go out and do stuff so make sure you and your parents know what's happening ahead of time - don't be late!
